Soft Skills
These ‘soft skills’ are of critical importance when fulfilling a manager role. For example;
- Effective – a manager is able to “make sh*t happen”. They are not someone who finds reasons why something didn’t happen. They constantly find ways round obstacles, gain traction and get things done.
- Accountable & Humble – much like a professional athlete, you recognise that you hold the responsibility for your performance at work. The ego is left at the door. Managers are able to look inward, reflect and constantly identify areas for improvement.
- Level-Headed – they are mature in their outlook at work and do not become over-whelmed when things are not going their way. A manager remains composed and stoic in the face of adversity, acting as a solid leader for their team to follow.
