Role Summary:
- Seeking an experienced Security Operations Analyst to support the delivery of client work for our growing consultancy.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for providing SOC services to a range of CyPro’s clients.
- Must be experienced in using Microsoft security tooling, including Defender for Endpoint and Sentinel, as well as implementing security monitoring solutions within AWS, GCP, Google Workspace and MacOS devices.
- Ideally seeking a certified analyst such as Microsoft Security Operations Analyst (SC-200) amongst others.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor: Setup, configure and perform period monitoring of clients’ network and systems for vulnerabilities/breaches.
- Prevent: Recommend and make configuration changes to enhance security.
- Respond: Investigate security alerts and provide appropriate incident response actions.
- Hunt: Proactively seek for new and emerging threats.
- Report: Develop and maintain dashboards with cyber security compliance metrics.
- Educate: Act as a subject matter expert for operational security, providing advice and guidance to internal teams on best practice.
- Configure: Perform optimization/tuning of security tools to decrease false positive/negative rates.
- Communicate: Liaise with technology and business stakeholders in relation to cyber security issues/incidents providing clear descriptions and actions
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 3 years, ideally 5 years, experience working in cyber security analyst / SOC analyst roles.
- A passion for technology and cyber security, with a desire to continually advance knowledge and skills.
- A deep understanding of security, threat modelling, and recovery techniques.
- Good working knowledge of common cyber security threats and the appropriate methods of risk mitigation.
- Experienced in evaluating security alerts and managing them appropriately.
- Advanced user of Microsoft security tools, including Defender, Sentinel and Google products such as GCP and AWS security.
- Knowledge and experience of using SIEM tools.
- Able to identify and implement appropriate cloud-based security controls.
- Good teamworking skills in order to collaborate with fellow CyPro analysts and clients.
- Capable of making careful and quick prioritisation calls.
- An ability to think innovatively and solve problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate with a technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- BSc in Computer, Technology or Security Related Degree
- SecOps related accreditations such as Certified Microsoft Security Operations Analyst (SC-200)
Desirable Qualifications:
- CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst
- CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional
- CCSP – Certified Cloud Security Professional
